Apr — The “Swift” from Youghall, the “Arthur Owen” from Scotland, the “Echo” from Guernsey, the “Cunningham” from Scotland, the “Perseverance” Schooner with several other vessels were lost in the ice on the coast of Newfoundland, in April. (LL).
Jul 5 Issue: The “Argo” from Liverpool to Newfoundland is lost in the ice with all of her crew. (LL).
Sep 8 The “Jemima”, Mission ship, arrived at Hopedale an unusual quantity and long continuance of drift ice on the coast. (EW).
