1821 Season
Dec 10 Two schooners had run upon the shoals of the Governor’s Island, the ice making rapidly in the harbour, it was found impractical to proceed from this place. (PEIG 16 Dec p3 c2)
Jan 19 The mails dispatched to Halifax, by the Carrier, left this place on the 16th of December. The present situation of the ice we are fearful will retard its progress for some days. (PEIG 19 Jan p3 c3)
Apr 1 The mail made up at the Post Office upon the 1st was delayed, by the state of the ice. (PEIG 14 Apr p4 c3)
Apr 28 The early approaches of the season, has carried with it the most cheering appearances. The weather has, generally, been unusually fine, and affords the earliest opportunities to the Agriculturalist. (PEIG 28 Apr p4 c1)
